Jill Emmerich is the owner and director of VENTANA Support Services. Jill has been working in the field of behavioral psychology, human development, and education since 1989. She currently provides behavioral wellness consultation for various organizations in Southern Florida. In addition to her ongoing study of behavioral science, Jill also stays current with wellness and stress management practice. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, is a Certified Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages, a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader, Certified Hatha Yoga Teacher, and Level 3 Reiki Master. Her diverse background has given her a very unique perspective that is appreciated by nearly everyone who works with her.
One area of concern she hears frequently in her consultative work is that people are having a harder time effectively communicating and interacting with each other in this modern day of technology. Parents are finding it harder to connect in meaningful ways with their children, adolescents and young adults are having a harder time connecting with each other to develop worthwhile romantic relationships, and employers are having a difficult time retaining dedicated employees.
While technology itself isn't the problem, learning how to find balance between modern convenience and time-honored human values appears to be a challenge for many people. Jill envisions the VENTANA Social Development Center to be a place where people of all ages can come together to share their interests, socialize, and learn from one another. A variety of opportunities and activities are offered, and it is hoped that as the center grows, every person who visits will feel they have received something of value that assists in their personal growth and development.
